This Privacy Policy describes how DiscountOS collects, uses, and discloses your personal information across our Shopify apps and services. By installing or using DiscountOS, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information we collect

• Merchant contact information: the name, email address, phone number, and contact details you provide when installing the app or contacting support.
• Store information: your Shopify store name, URL, and settings.
• Discount configurations: the discounts, rules, and labels you create in the app.
• Usage data: app interaction logs, usage statistics, and preferences.
• Payment information: billing details handled through Shopify transactions.

2. Your customers' data

DiscountOS does not sell your customers' personal information. Most discounts run entirely inside Shopify's checkout, using signals Shopify provides in the moment (such as customer tags or order counts), and that information is not stored on our systems.

When you limit a discount to specific customers, DiscountOS reads those customers through Shopify's read_customers permission and stores each customer's ID and a display label — their name, or their email address when the name is blank — so your discount settings show who the discount applies to. We store at most 100 customers per discount, only for discounts you set up this way, and use them for nothing else.

When you use Shopify Sidekick with DiscountOS, Sidekick reads your DiscountOS discount settings to answer you. No customer personal data is sent to Sidekick.

3. Shopify privacy webhooks

We implement Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact). When Shopify forwards a customer data request, we can tell you which of your discounts list that customer. When Shopify forwards a customer redaction request, we erase that customer's name and email from your discount settings; the customer ID stays so your discount keeps working as you set it up. When you uninstall DiscountOS, your discounts, including any customers listed on them, are deleted.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the app, when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of DiscountOS, our users, and the public.

6. Where your data is hosted

Our application infrastructure is hosted in the European Union (Hetzner, Germany). Store and discount data lives on our EU servers and within your own Shopify store; Shopify processes checkout and platform data under its own privacy policy.

7. Data retention

We retain your information only as long as necessary to deliver our services, or as required to comply with our legal obligations. When you uninstall the app, your discount records and store access credentials are deleted from our systems; minimal store-level records (such as billing history) may be retained where needed for legal and accounting purposes.

8. Your rights

You may access, update, or delete your personal information at any time by contacting us at the address below. We will respond in line with applicable data-protection laws.

9. Security

We implement reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Updates to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
