Plans and billing

DiscountOS has one plan, Pro. You can install the app, build every discount and test it on your store without a plan. You need the plan when a discount, promotion or block-code rule should work for your customers.

  • Price: $14.90 every 30 days.
  • Free trial: 7 days.
  • Billing: Shopify bills the plan on your Shopify invoice. You choose the plan on Shopify’s own plan page, which the app opens for you.
  • What is included: every feature. All discount types, Promotions (sale badges and price drops), block codes, and customer and market targeting. There is no order cap and there are no usage limits.

Everything except going live for your customers:

  • Build anything. Every discount type, every promotion and every block-code rule can be created and saved.
  • Test discounts and promotions. A discount in test mode applies only to signed-in customers tagged dos-test, so you can try it on your real storefront.
  • A new discount is saved in test mode. Without a plan, a discount you create is saved in test mode automatically.
  • The Test mode switch is locked. On a store without a plan, the switch shows a lock icon and a Pro badge, with a Subscribe to unlock link that opens the plan page. Turning test mode off, which puts the discount in front of your customers, needs the plan.
  • Block-code rules stay off. A rule can be built, but turning it on for your customers needs the plan.
  • Early users. Stores that installed DiscountOS before paid plans started keep full access free, as long as the app stays installed. Uninstalling ends that free access; if you install DiscountOS again later, you need the plan.
  • Shopify development stores and Shopify staff stores keep full access free.

Open Billing in the DiscountOS menu of your Shopify admin sidebar, under Promotions (Beta). The page shows one card for your plan, in one of these states:

  • Free plan — “You have full access to DiscountOS at no charge.” Shown to early users and to development and staff stores. The button is View plans.
  • No plan — “You can create and test discounts for free. To turn them on for your customers, choose a plan.” The button is Choose a plan.
  • Pro plan · Active — “You can turn your discounts on for your customers. Billed on your Shopify invoice.” The button is Manage plan.
  • Pro plan · Cancelled — “Your plan is cancelled. It stays active until the end of your billing period — Shopify shows the date. After that, your discounts switch to test mode.” The button is Choose a plan.
  • Plan ended — the No plan card says what was switched off, for example “Your plan ended, so 3 discounts were switched to test mode, and 1 block-code rule was turned off. Choose a plan to turn them back on.”

Under the plan card, the page links to support and these docs.

The plan is managed in Shopify. On the Billing page, Manage plan (or Choose a plan) opens Shopify’s plan page, where you choose the plan. Uninstalling DiscountOS cancels the plan.

  • Discounts and promotions switch to test mode. Shoppers tagged dos-test can still see them; everyone else cannot.
  • Block-code rules turn off.
  • Nothing is deleted.
  • When you choose a plan again, the app turns them back on automatically.

How much does DiscountOS cost?

One plan, Pro, at $14.90 every 30 days with a 7-day free trial. Shopify bills it on your Shopify invoice. Every feature is included, with no order cap and no usage limits.

Can I try DiscountOS without a plan?

Yes. Without a plan you can install the app, build any discount, promotion or block-code rule, and test discounts and promotions in test mode. A plan is needed only to turn them on for your customers.

I installed DiscountOS before paid plans started. Do I need to pay?

No. Stores that installed DiscountOS before paid plans started keep full access free for as long as the app stays installed. If you uninstall, that free access ends, and installing again later needs the plan.

What happens to my discounts if my plan ends?

Your discounts and promotions switch to test mode and your block-code rules turn off. Nothing is deleted. Choose a plan and they turn back on automatically.
